Howard I. Darvin, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Howard Darvin is a founding partner of Ohio Total Health Solutions, and Vascular Solutions with Dr. James Persky. Dr. Darvin is a graduate of Howard University’s acclaimed 6-year B.S.-M.D. program. He trained in General Surgery at U.C.L.A. and the Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He completed his vascular surgery sub-specialty training at the St. Anthony Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is Board Certified in General Surgery, limiting his practice to vascular surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Cleveland Vascular Society. He has been a practicing vascular surgeon in Cleveland, Ohio since 1989. Dr. Darvin practices at both CCF-Hillcrest Hospital and UHHS-Ahuja Medical Center, UHHS Geauga Medical Center, as well as various other eastside hospitals. Dr. Darvin is trained in all facets of Vascular Surgery as well as Vascular Medicine. He has special interest in carotid artery disease and wound care.
When not in the operating room or office, he can be found watching his youngest son compete in swimming or on the golf course.
James M. Persky, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. James M. Persky is a founding partner of Ohio Total Health Solutions with Dr. Howard Darvin. A native Clevelander, Dr. Persky did his undergraduate education at Stanford University and attained his medical degree from the Case School of Medicine. After his general surgery training, he completed a two-year fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Persky is board certified in vascular surgery and has been practicing in NE Ohio for 20 years. Along with Dr. Darvin, Dr. Persky has admitting privileges at several east side hospitals including CCF-Hillcrest, UHHS-Ahuja Medical Center and the Lake Hospital System. Dr. Persky is trained in all aspects of vascular surgery including open surgery and minimally invasive techniques. His special interests include minimally invasive surgery for varicose veins, endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms and wound healing.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Persky enjoys reading and watching any activity involving his children. With his free time, he tries to get on the tennis court for some spirited doubles.
