Aortic Aneurysm Stent Graft Repair
- The paper tapes on your groin can get wet. Just blot dry, do not rub. They will fall off on their own in 7 to 10 days. - If your incision was closed with skin staples, keep them dry. - Your groin incisions will feel numb. Most of this resolves on it’s own in a few months. - A small amount of swelling and mild pain is to be expected. Any significant increase in swelling, pain or drainage should be reported to your surgeon. They will fall off on their own in 7 to 10 days. - If your incision was closed with skin staples, keep them dry. - Your neck incision will feel numb. Most of this resolves on it’s own in a few months. - If a drain was used in your surgery, a small piece of gauze and tape is at the bottom of your neck incision. This should be removed prior to your first shower, and a bandaid should be used to cover the area after the shower. Remove the bandaid prior to your next shower and blot the area dry after your shower. Cover with a fresh bandaid. After two or three days a scab will have formed and there is no longer a need to cover with a bandaid. - A small amount of swelling and mild pain is to be expected.
